Where can I use coins?

Right now you can use coins to do the following:

  • Check if a crossword entry is correct: 3 coins.

  • Reveal wrong entry: 3 coins. This is useful when you have filled all the empty cells but the crossword is incomplete.

  • Reveal a crossword entry: 5 coins.

In the future, you will be able to use coins in many more places. Stay tuned as we add new features.

How many coins do I have?

When you are solving a crossword, the number of coins you have will be highlighted at the crossword toolbar. You can also check the number of coins you have by going to your Settings page.

How do I get coins?

Coins are awarded to you as you complete games on Pendwa based on the following rules:

  • Completing a crossword of the day will get you 3 coins.

  • Completing any other crossword of the day will get you 1 coin.

Can other people see my coins?

The number of coins you have and your coin usage is private to you.

What if I use multiple devices?

As long as you are signed in to your account, the entries you checked or revealed will be kept in sync. In instances where one device is out of sync, spending coins to check or reveal the same entry on another device will not result in double spending of your coins.

What happens to my points?

For accounts that were created before this change, those accounts have automatically been awarded a number of coins equivalent to the number of points you had when we added support for coins. We will continue to use your points to track your progress on the leaderboard. Points are never expensed.
